- First Murderer (to Third Murderer) Then stand with us.
- l5l The west yet glimmers with some streaks of day.
- l6l Now spurs the lated traveller apace
- l7l To gain the timely inn, and near approaches
- l8l The subject of our watch.
- Third Murderer Hark, I hear horses.
- l9l Banquo (within) Give us a light there, ho!
- Second Murderer Then Ætis he. The rest
- l10l That are within the note of expectation
- l11l Already are iÆ thÆ court.
- First Murderer His horses go about.
- l12l Third Murderer Almost a mile; but he does usually,
- l13l So all men do, from hence to thÆ palace gate
- l14l Make it their walk.
- (Enter Banquo and Fleance with a torch)
- Second Murderer (aside) A light, a light.
- Third Murderer (aside) ÆTis he.
- l15l First Murderer (aside) Stand to Æt.
- l16l Banquo It will be rain tonight.
- First Murderer Let it come down.
- (First Murderer strikes out the torch. The others attack
- Banquo)
- l17l Banquo O, treachery! Fly, good Fleance, fly, fly, fly!
- l18l Thou mayst revenge.ùO slave!
- (He dies. Exit Fleance)
- l19l Third Murderer Who did strike out the light?
- l20l First Murderer Was Æt not the way?
- l21l Third Murderer ThereÆs but one down. The son is fled.
- l22l Second Murderer We have lost best half of our affair.
- l23l First Murderer Well, letÆs away and say how much is done.
